Info
On 2 October 2026 at University of Wolverhampton at The Halls, Wolverhampton, Europe bring The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour. Formed around singer Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum, the Swedish band forged a sound of big vocal lines, synth motifs and sharp riffs. This anniversary set looks back to the 1986 album that marked their rise, with its title track alongside Carrie and Rock the Night, and reaches into earlier cuts from Wings of Tomorrow and the grittier albums of their 2000s return. The Tempest–Norum axis still sets the tone, with keys and rhythm section giving the songs their drive on stage.
Glasgow’s Gun open with a lean, melodic rock that threads hard rock bite with radio-ready hooks. First noticed with Taking On The World and a run through Gallus and Swagger, they resurfaced with Dante Gizzi on vocals and have kept the pace with Frantic, Favourite Pleasures and Hombres. Expect a tight set built on upfront guitars and choruses that stick.
Montreal’s The Damn Truth channel a 70s-rooted blues rock strain, mixing psych shades and heavy grooves. Lee-La Baum’s soul-tinged voice locks in with guitarist Tom Shemer, backed by PY Letellier and Dave Traina. From Dear in the Headlights to Now or Nowhere, their songs shift between slow-burn ballads and harder drives, made for live rooms.
