The Pentatonic presents « No Cigar »

On 22 November 2026 at The Cluny in Newcastle upon Tyne, NO CIGAR bring their melodic, guitar‑led rock from New Zealand to the UK. The Auckland five‑piece — Willy (vocals), Josh (guitar, BVs), Arthur (guitar, BVs), Sam (bass) and Ned (drums) — tour behind their third record, Under The Surface. Written largely on the road after The Great Escape dropped in December 2023, the album took shape between tour stops and a focused stint in Chantilly, a quiet town just north of Paris, where the band settled in to write and track new material.

Since forming in 2019, NO CIGAR have carved out a sound that blends indie rock with psych touches, narrative songwriting and mid‑tempo grooves designed to breathe on stage. Early releases like Tickets To Space and the Radical Road EP set the tone, before their debut album Bienvenido pushed their themes of relationships, travel and city life into full focus. This date at The Cluny lands within their biggest UK and European run yet, with fresh cuts from Under The Surface folding into setlist staples for a tight, guitar‑first show that leans on feel, interplay and warm arrangements.
