SJM Concerts present « Good Kid » plus support

Toronto five-piece Good Kid lands in Newcastle on Wednesday 16 September 2026 at Newcastle University Students’ Union. The band folds bright, J‑rock‑tinged riffs into punchy pop‑punk energy and an indie rock sensibility, with quick choruses, clear guitars and a bass that keeps the songs moving. On stage, they favour a lively, participatory feel, tight interplay and tempo shifts that keep the room alert.

Since their self-titled debut EP in 2018, followed by Good Kid 2 (2020) and Good Kid 3 (2022), the group has built a catalogue of short, melodic tracks about friendships, the doubts of early adulthood and an internet-bred culture of games and anime. In 2024 they released their first album, Can We Hang Out Sometime?, recorded in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton, widening the palette toward more nuanced cuts while keeping the immediacy that defines their sound. Live, they draw across that catalogue, moving from rapid-fire singalongs to newer material with the same direct voice and a knack for collective momentum.
