Info

Indian guitarist and singer-songwriter Taba Chake brings his stripped-back, fingerstyle-driven folk to O2 Academy Islington, London, on 12 May 2026. Raised in Khunglo, Arunachal Pradesh and rooted in the Nyishi community, he writes in Nyishi, Hindi, Assamese and English, moving between languages with ease while keeping a warm acoustic core. Since going solo in 2012, he has built an intimate songbook that leans into indie folk and acoustic pop, where clean guitar lines carry stories of travel, memory and everyday moments.

His first steps came with the EP Bond With Nature (2016), followed by the album Bombay Dreams (2019), which brought wider attention to tracks like Aao Chalein, Shaayad and Walk With Me. He has since released the single Blush (2020) and stepped into Indian cinema with Aye Mere Dil for Kadak Singh (2023), then the score for I Want to Talk (2024). On stage, he keeps arrangements light and precise, letting melody, rhythm and percussive guitar do the work, a style honed at festivals such as Ziro Festival of Music and NH7 Weekender. Expect a set that moves across languages and phases of his journey, anchored by that distinct touch on the fretboard.
