Hampton Court Palace Festival Presents OMD

OMD – Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – play Hampton Court Palace on 12 June 2026. Formed at the end of the 70s by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, the band defined their own take on synth-pop, mixing straightforward melodies with darker electronic textures. Their live set draws a clear line from the atmospheric writing of Architecture & Morality to the cut‑up experiments of Dazzle Ships, then on to the cleaner pop contours of Crush and The Pacific Age.

Since reforming in the late 2000s, OMD have linked past and present across a run of albums that refreshed their sound without losing the core DNA: History of Modern and English Electric reopened the chapter, The Punishment of Luxury sharpened the production, and Bauhaus Staircase extended the palette with contemporary tones. At Hampton Court Palace, expect a focused show built on precision electronics, driving rhythms and McCluskey/Humphreys’ unmistakable interplay, with classics and recent tracks sitting side by side in a set designed for open‑air summer nights.
