Rainbow Kitten Surprise

Rainbow Kitten Surprise bring their shape-shifting indie rock to O2 Academy Glasgow on 31 May 2026. Formed in Boone, North Carolina around Ela Melo and Darrick “Bozzy” Keller and expanded with Ethan Goodpaster, Jess Haney and Charlie Holt, the band has built a sound that balances intimate folk edges with sharper electric bursts. Expressive lead vocals, close harmonies and melodic guitar lines drive songs rooted in personal storytelling and quick turns of mood.

Onstage, the group moves between hushed passages and punchier sections, letting the vocals sit up front while rhythms keep a pop-aware pulse. After early self-produced releases gathered on Seven + Mary and the self-titled RKS, they teamed with Elektra for How to: Friend, Love, Freefall, refining arrangements and vocal layers. Their 2024 album Love Hate Music Box extends that approach, folding in folk influences, touches of pop and themes of intimacy, spirituality and identity. Expect a set that threads new material with earlier tracks, carried by dynamics and harmonies.
