Jesse Malin released his solo debut, The Fine Art of Self Destruction, in 2003. Over the next two decades, he released eight more solo albums and built a community of fans across the UK and Europe, performing at festivals including Glastonbury and Hyde Park. His songs have been covered by Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams, Green Day, Elvis Costello, Bleachers, and Counting Crows.
In 2023, Malin suffered a rare spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He learned to stand again and returned to the stage the following year in New York before playing London’s Islington Assembly Hall.
In 2026, Malin made his off-Broadway debut in the stage show Silver Manhattan, written by Malin and Lauren Ludwig. His first book, Almost Grown: A New York Memoir, will be released on April 7.
