Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox brings The Future Is Vintage Tour 2026 to The Glasshouse - International Centre for Music, Saint Mary’s Square, Gateshead, on 4 June 2026. Founded by pianist and arranger Scott Bradlee, the collective reimagines contemporary pop, hip-hop and R&B through the lens of earlier eras: swing, ragtime, doo-wop, soul and big band. On stage, a rotating cast of singers trades leads while horns, upright bass, piano and drums sculpt arrangements with tight harmonies, brushed snares, muted trumpets and walking grooves.

The set flows like a time-jump through styles, turning familiar hooks into standards-in-the-making without losing their core melodies. Bradlee’s charts shift keys, grooves and harmonies to fit each period, opening space for solos, call-and-response and quick pivots between moods. One moment croon and close-mic intimacy; the next, brassy blasts and dancefloor shuffle. The lineup changes keep the focus on voices and character, with each vocalist bringing a distinct color to the repertoire. Vintage aesthetics frame the show, but the energy stays rooted in live interplay, making modern anthems feel newly minted in an old-school frame.
