Info
Scottish blues rock outfit King King plays Gorilla in Manchester on 16 September 2026. Led by singer-guitarist Alan Nimmo and featuring his brother Stevie Nimmo for this run, the band leans into muscular riffs, warm Hammond swells and choruses built for a crowd, with Nimmo’s grainy, soulful voice at the center. Formed in Glasgow, King King cut its teeth on the UK blues circuit before releasing Take My Hand and Standing in the Shadows, followed by Reaching for the Light and Exile & Grace, then Maverick in 2020, sculpting a sound that balances slow-burning ballads and punchier, road-ready tunes.
Onstage, the Nimmo brothers trade guitars and harmonies, steering songs that nod to classic blues rock while keeping a contemporary, melodic focus. The set draws on sturdy songwriting, dynamics and extended grooves, mixing long-time favourites with newer cuts without frills. A straight-ahead live show from a band that puts the songs first.
