Info
Freya Ridings brings the Mother of Pearl Tour to The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 23 September 2026. Born in London and partly trained at the BRIT School, she writes at the piano and on guitar, blending pop, folk and soul with a taste for stripped-back arrangements and slow-burning ballads. She put out her first tracks in 2017, including Blackout, and found a wider audience the same year with Lost Without You, a song that set the tone for her deep voice and direct, unadorned songwriting. Early live releases from St Pancras Old Church and Omeara, then the EP You Mean the World to Me, sketched out a path she confirmed on her self-titled debut in 2019 with Castles and the title track.
Since then, Ridings has toured across the UK, opened for Tears for Fears, Tash Sultana and Lewis Capaldi, and played Glastonbury in 2019. Blood Orange, released in 2023, broadened the production while keeping the intimacy of her writing, and the same year she co-wrote Rise for the film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. On stage, expect songs that travel from quiet, piano-led confessions to fuller pop textures, with a setlist that links her early singles to more recent material. In Glasgow, her voice and keys are front and centre, carried by arrangements that leave space for the melodies to unfold.
