The Hu « Warrior Chant Tour »

The HU bring their Warrior Chant Tour to The LCR in Norwich on 11 October 2026. Formed in Ulaanbaatar in 2016, the Mongolian band shaped a sound they call hunnu rock: throat singing and traditional instruments—morin khuur, tovshuur, tumur khuur—braided with heavy riffs and punchy rhythms. On stage, those deep harmonics meet unison chants and droning strings, building a hypnotic drive that shifts between tight marches and wide, melodic swells.

Breakout tracks Yuve Yuve Yu and Wolf Totem pushed the group onto the global map, and they’ve since clarified their balance of weight and melody across the albums The Gereg and Rumble of Thunder. Collaborations with figures from Western metal expanded their palette without sanding down the grain of their identity.

Live, the focus is physical and collective: call-and-response vocals, circular guitar figures, and a low-end thrum that leaves room for the timbre of traditional instruments to cut through. It’s a set where heritage and amplification share the lead, with songs that move forward on a steady, communal pulse—made for raising voices as much as fists.
