Info

On August 25, 2026 at IMMA, Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, Deftones and IDLES share the stage.

Deftones, formed in Sacramento in 1988 around Chino Moreno and Stephen Carpenter, forged an alternative metal sound that folds weighty riffs into atmospheric textures. From Adrenaline and Around the Fur to White Pony, the band shaped a vocabulary they kept refining with Frank Delgado’s electronics, Abe Cunningham’s sharp drumming and Sergio Vega on bass. Saturday Night Wrist in 2006 marked a shift, followed by Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan, balancing impact and nuance. On stage, they move between hushed melodies and dense, serrated grooves.

IDLES, born in Bristol in 2009 with Joe Talbot and Adam Devonshire, drive a tense mix of punk, post‑punk and post‑hardcore. With Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan on guitars and Jon Beavis on drums, the group grew from small rooms to festival stages with songs that tackle social questions and personal scars. Brutalism set the tone, Joy as an Act of Resistance and Ultra Mono tightened the chant‑led structures, Crawler slowed the pulse for a more introspective edge, and TANGK added roughened melody. Their live approach is collective, physical and very vocal.
