Valtos presents «High Water Mark»

Valtos brings High Water Mark to The Grand Social in Dublin on July 4, 2026. From the Isle of Skye, Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald work at the meeting point of Gaelic song and electronic production, folding traditional melodies into steady dance rhythms. Launched in 2021, the duo has built a sound that carries the pulse of house with hooks drawn from the Hebrides, letting Gaelic lyrics ride synths, breaks and bass without losing the shape of the tunes. A remix of Peatbog Faeries’ Marx Terrace, the singles Home and Ceòl Dannsa, and a self-titled debut album marked the path, along with regular collaborations across the Scottish trad scene with Eilidh Cormack, Lana Pheutan, Project Smok and Julie Fowlis. On stage, Valtos uses club energy as a frame for language and dance music that stays close to its roots, balancing weighty low end and bright melodic lines, building momentum in waves and keeping the room moving while the stories and cadences of Gaelic stay front and center.
