Sons of the East

On 30 July 2026, Sons Of The East will play at Caprera in Bloemendaal. The trio from Sydney’s north coast — Jack Rollins, Dan Wallage and Nic Johnston — have been carving out their own place in indie folk since the early 2010s. Multi-part vocals are central, supported by acoustic guitars and rhythms that lean on pop with a touch of Americana. That combination yields compact songs with a direct melodic line and room for vocal harmonies.

After a series of EPs that sharpened their profile — Sons Of The East (2013), Already Gone (2014), Lost Cause (2015) and Burn Right Through (2019) — the album Palomar Parade followed in 2022. On it the band sounds clear and focused: from intimate folk ballads to tracks that pick up the pace and move toward indie rock. Live, the trio shifts smoothly between understated and energetic, with arrangements that breathe and retain a warm tonal quality. In Caprera that balance comes to life in a set where melody and harmony set the course.
