Olivier de Benoist « Le droit au bonheur »

Info

Olivier de Benoist takes the Pasino GRAND Partouche Aix-en-Provence on May 5, 2026 with a one-man show that turns family life into a testing ground for happiness. Convinced he has found peace… in strategically distancing himself from his wife and children, he unfolds a very personal moral: to live happily, it’s better to hide away sometimes—far from diapers, homework and compromises. We follow his step-by-step quest for bliss, from the couple to the children, from small acts of cowardice to bold getaways, driven by that mock-macho tone that serves as his compass.

On stage, ODB plays the overwhelmed husband and the advocate of bad faith, stringing together twisted arguments and sly admissions, preferring a clever turn to gratuitous nastiness. The writing, co-signed with Paul-Marie Debrie and Jérôme Daran, carves into the everyday: domestic scenes, parlor quips, sharp reversals and a keen sense of rhythm. In 90 minutes he knits a narrative stand-up where gentle satire and barely veiled confessions intersect, with one question front and center: how do you stay happy when you love your own and sometimes dream of loving them from a distance?
