Roméo & Juliette

Roméo & Juliette, the musical by Gérard Presgurvic, returns to the stage on 3 March 2028 at the Galaxie Amnéville in Amnéville-les-Thermes. Carried by its now-familiar songs such as Les Rois du monde and Aimer, the show regains the alchemy that made it known from 2001 onwards, while adapting it to today’s codes. At the heart of the production, the duo of Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara reprise Roméo and Juliette with the experience accumulated over years of touring in France and abroad. Their rapport gives particular depth to this story of love and defiance, between heritage and the present.

Cécilia Cara returns to the origins of a role she began in adolescence, now enriched by years on stage. Damien Sargue takes up Roméo again with the perspective of a performer who has seen the production travel and evolve. Together, they reinvigorate a pop and lyrical score, supported by a rethought aesthetic, new costumes and updated staging, without altering what defines the project’s identity. Roméo & Juliette continues to explore, through Shakespeare, a simple and direct question: how far will you go for love? Here, the answer is played out in songs, choruses and company energy, in a format designed to bring several generations together.
