Info
Babx, also known as David Babin, will perform on May 5, 2026 at the Carré Sévigné in Cesson-Sévigné. A singer-songwriter trained in music from an early age, he first sang in choirs before launching a solo career in the early 2000s. His debut album was released in 2005 and laid the foundations for a songwriting attentive to words, followed by Cristall Ballroom and Drones Personnels, which established a compositional approach where the text guides the melody. At the same time he writes for other voices—from Julien Doré to Camélia Jordana—work that informs the way he constructs his own songs.
On stage, Babx arranges his songs as one would unfold a narrative, playing on breath and contour. With the voice in the foreground, he moves through his repertoire, circulating his themes along a clear line. The arrangements remain in service of the lyrics, without excess, allowing the phrasing and dynamics of each piece to emerge. This concert highlights the direct relationship he cultivates with the audience, close to his texts and their rhythms, to bring out what lies at the heart of his songwriting.
