Lou Trotignon « Mérou »

On June 6, 2026 at La Scala in Paris, Lou Trotignon presents Mérou, a staged narrative that traces their transition story and the ways we build ourselves. Assigned female at birth, Lou disagrees. On stage, they recount with humor very concrete moments — beginning testosterone, doing a striptease, discovering a queer world — to question gender norms, the relationship to one’s body, and love. Mérou does not set out to prove anything; rather, it opens avenues, shares lived experience, and asks questions many still ask: must one stay in the role assigned to them, can one rewrite their story?

For these final dates, Lou has imagined an expanded format: before the performance there will be an immersive exhibition created with the LGBTQI Archives Center Paris, where archives, voices and images weave a living memory of the struggles. Then comes the Mérou performance, preceded by cabaret acts from Maison Furieuse. An evening that mixes intimate testimony, fragments of history and stage energy, carried by Lou Trotignon’s direct writing and strong sense of narrative.
