Lou Trotignon « Mérou »

At La Scala, Paris, on June 4, 2026, Lou Trotignon presents Mérou. Assigned a gender decided by others, Lou humorously recounts how that narrative began to crack: starting testosterone, a striptease, the discovery of queer worlds. On stage, Lou unfolds a story of transition that becomes concrete, speaking of bodies, desire, intimacy and love, and raising questions many people ask: must we remain what we’ve been told to be? Can we reinvent our bodies, our relationship to ourselves and to others? Rewrite our own story?

Mérou is also presented as an exhibition-performance. In collaboration with the Centre d’archives LGBTQI Paris, the audience, before entering the auditorium, moves through an immersive installation made of archives, voices, images and traces of past struggles — a memory in motion. Then it’s on to the stage: to open, cabaret performances by the artists of MAISON FURIEUSE, before Lou leads the audience into the heart of Mérou, between storytelling, stand-up and performative gestures.
