Info

On 16 June 2026 at La Scala in Paris, Lou Trotignon presents Mérou, a one-person show that takes as its premise the grouper — a fish that changes sex — to tell, with humour and candour, a transition in progress. Lou unfolds their story in the present tense, from starting testosterone to an unapologetic striptease, and on to an exploration of the queer world. Throughout the narrative, simple and direct questions arise: should we remain the person we were assigned to be, can we reinvent our bodies, our relationship to love, and rewrite our story without an instruction manual?

Mérou is presented here in an exhibition-performance format. Before entering the auditorium, an immersive exhibition, conceived with the Centre d’archives LGBTQI Paris, takes visitors through fragments of memory: archives, voices, images and traces of struggle that sketch a living genealogy. Then it’s on to the stage, where Lou Trotignon holds the thread of their precise and accessible narrative stand-up, preceded by cabaret performances from MAISON FURIEUSE. An evening conceived as a passage: from memory to the stage, from the intimate narrative to the collective, to share a moment in which identity is told in the present.
