Lou Trotignon « Mérou »

In Mérou, Lou Trotignon turns their own journey into material for the stage. Assigned female at birth, they recount how they unfolded beyond the boxes — from the first dose of testosterone to the backstage of striptease, and through the queer spaces where people fashion their own points of reference. With a direct and playful voice, Lou sets in motion questions that run through everyone: what were we told to be, what do we choose to become, how do we reinvent the body, love, and the stories that hold us?

On June 10, 2026, at La Scala, Lou will present an expanded version of Mérou. Before the auditorium, an immersive installation brings up fragments of memory — archives, voices, images, traces of struggles — like a living genealogy that accompanies the performance. Then the stage opens on Mérou, preceded by performances from cabaret artists of the MAISON FURIEUSE collective. The format is conceived as a passage: from the intimate to the political, from memory to the present, with Lou’s narrative remaining the guiding thread.
