Girls in Hawaïfi

Girls in Hawaïi return to the stage on 19 November 2026 at La Nef, Angoulême. Formed in the early 2000s near Brussels, the band has built a melodic indie rock sung in English, driven by the voices and guitars of Antoine Wielemans and Lionel Vancauwenberghe. Clean guitars, subtle keyboards, and supple rhythms: a setting ripe for songs suffused with gentle melancholy.

First noticed with From Here to There and then confirmed by Plan Your Escape, they later steered their music toward more atmospheric landscapes with Everest and Nocturne, while revisiting their repertoire in stripped-down versions on Hello Strange. In concert they weave a connection between these different periods, mixing early tracks and more electronic textures, with a constant focus on melody.

At La Nef, you’ll find that blend of contained energy and precise arrangements, delivered by a collective rooted in the Belgian alternative scene and at ease in both clubs and festivals. An opening act will start the evening.
