Info
On April 29, 2026, at L’Astrolabe in Orléans, Parlor Greens opens the evening with an organic trio that goes straight to the point. Signed to Colemine Records, the band brings together organist Adam Scone, guitarist Jimmy James and drummer Tim Carman around a sound rooted in the jazz-organ tradition. On stage, the groove is the common thread: thick organ lines, a sharp guitar, tight drumming — somewhere between soul-jazz, funk, instrumental rhythm and blues and nods to 1960s–70s film scores. The pared-down format leaves room for interaction and concise writing.
Kendra Morris follows with modern soul at the crossroads of R&B, funk, a hushed indie rock and pop with psychedelic overtones. Based in Brooklyn, the singer-songwriter fashions her pieces like miniatures in which the voice leads, supported by carefully crafted textures and a direct melodic sense. Her latest album of original songs deepens this DIY, intimate approach, balancing supple grooves, dense arrangements and an immediately engaging energy.
Taylor Williams closes the bill in neo-soul mode. An American composer and singer, he blends classic 1970s sonorities with contemporary songwriting, delivered in an expressive, warm timbre. Between alternative R&B and vintage soul influences, his songs walk the line between velvet and tension, conceived as much for live performance as for the fine detail of the arrangements.
