Born in the Boston area in 1996, Dropkick Murphys fuse punk rock with melodies and instruments drawn from Irish folk, choral chants and a strong working-class pulse. From early cornerstones like Do or Die and The Gang’s All Here to Blackout and The Warrior’s Code with I’m Shipping Up to Boston, their catalogue balances punch and tradition. Recent projects, including the Woody Guthrie–inspired This Machine Still Kills Fascists, lean further into American folk roots without dropping the collective, straight-ahead energy that powers their live shows.
Therapy? formed in Northern Ireland in 1989 and carved a sound where hardcore punk, alternative metal, noise rock and post-punk friction meet. After the raw charge of early EPs, they tightened the screws with Nurse, then pushed toward sharper, more immediate writing on Troublegum, while keeping dissonance, sudden turns and a dry sense of humor in the lyrics. Records like Infernal Love, Semi-Detached and, later, Cleave and Hard Cold Fire refine that mix of tension and melody. Hot Water Music completes the lineup.
