Pal_co presenta Joe Goddard (hot chip dj set)

Joe Goddard is a member of Hot Chip and The 2 Bears, as well as a songwriter, producer, DJ, remixer and co‑founder of the Greco‑Roman label. Like Four Tet, Caribou and Jamie xx, Joe combines a constant drive for experimentation with an instinct for the dancefloor and an interest in alternative, unconventional pop. During the 1990s he attended the Elliott School in Putney, where he met his Hot Chip bandmate Alexis Taylor and his lifelong friend Kieran Hebden. In his teens he moved from indie and hip hop to drum and bass, and later to house and garage, always alert to the moments when underground music managed to break into the charts.

In addition to contributing to seven albums with Hot Chip and two with Raf Rundell as The 2 Bears, Joe has remixed artists such as Kraftwerk, New Order, Disclosure, Dirty Projectors, The Chemical Brothers, Wiley and Jessie Ware. He has also produced tracks for Franz Ferdinand, Bernard Sumner, Little Boots, Dels and Mashrou' Leila, and released a series of solo singles.

"Gabriel," his 2011 track with vocalist Valentina, was his first success outside Hot Chip. That momentum led to further releases like "Taking Over" and to his first solo album on Domino, Electric Lines. True to his collaborative spirit, in recent years he has worked with Michael Mayer, Tuff City Kids, Eats Everything, Matthew Dear, Mixhell and Hayden Thorpe, while preparing new projects and continuing his solo career.
