Apparat

Apparat, aka Sascha Ring, arrives in Barcelona on 21 May 2026 for a live performance at Sala Razzmatazz. His approach crosses IDM, ambient, techno and experimental pop — a trajectory that, from his earliest releases on Shitkatapult through LP5, has shifted from the club toward more melodic and vocal landscapes. On stage he builds layers of synthesis and processed guitars, meticulous rhythms and vocals treated as another instrument, hovering between song and instrumental piece.

The set can revisit moments from Walls or The Devil’s Walk and make room for more cinematic passages, informed by his work for theatre and film. His history with Modeselektor in Moderat and collaborations with Ellen Allien can be sensed in the dynamics: progressions that unfold unhurriedly, precise rhythmic shifts, textures that expand and retract.

At Razzmatazz the focus is on detail and sound design: sculpted basslines, pulses that move forward in layers, melodies that enter and exit with subtlety. A live show that emphasizes the tension between the physical impact of the beat and an electronic narrative in constant mutation.
