Grupo 5

Grupo 5 arrives in Madrid on June 13, 2026, at the Palacio Vistalegre Arena with their northern cumbia rooted in Peruvian tradition. Born in the ’70s in Monsefú (Lambayeque), the group grew up among dance orchestras and popular festivals, and today they perform live with a large lineup including a rhythm section, keyboards, brass and several lead vocalists. Under the direction of the Yaipén family, since the 1990s they have pushed their sound toward a more urban cumbia, adding shades of technocumbia while keeping clear verse-and-chorus structures.

On stage they alternate classics and recent songs with romantic, melancholic lyrics that address breakups, nostalgia and everyday life. Sing-along choruses, dance-oriented grooves and arrangements designed for audiences who want to move define a repertoire that is updated with each new voice without losing its identity. Regulars on major stages in Peru and in Latin communities abroad, they bring to Madrid that intersection of modern cumbia and tropical dance spirit, sharpened by collaborations in salsa and Latin pop and ready for a night shared to the rhythm of cumbia.
