Mother Soki

Minneapolis-based solo project Mother Soki brings a gauzy blend of dreampop, indie rock and shoegaze echoes to RUST, Guldbergsgade 8, 2200 Nørrebro, Denmark, on May 11, 2026. Shaped during years of study in Chicago, the project grew from early recordings into songs built around texture: retro-tinged synths, dense guitars and airy, layered vocals that open up space. The 90s imprint runs through the arrangements, with traces of The Sundays, Imogen Heap and Cocteau Twins, while the writing stays anchored in grain and contrast rather than pure nostalgia. Live, Mother Soki leans on a weighty rhythmic and harmonic bed to carry light, almost murmured melodies, moving between hazy swells and more grounded, melodic passages.
