Bo Ningen

On 1 June 2026, Bo Ningen bring their experimental psych-noise rock to RUST in Copenhagen. Formed in London in the mid-2000s by four Japanese musicians, the quartet — with bassist and vocalist Taigen Kawabe alongside guitarists Yuki Tsujii and Kohhei Matsuda — has moved between underground clubs and avant‑garde scenes. Their writing leans on long, hypnotic climbs, abrasive riffs and vocals largely in Japanese, sliding from trance-like repetition to sudden ruptures that press against melody and dissonance.

On stage, that language turns physical: dense layers lock into tight grooves, feedback stretches time then snaps back into sharp, post‑punk contours. Their trajectory runs from the self‑titled debut in 2010 through Line the Wall (2012) and III (2014), the extended collaboration with Savages on Words to the Blind, and Sudden Fictions (2020), where psych currents meet more melodic turns without smoothing the grain. At RUST, Bo Ningen channel these explorations into a set that shifts and builds, letting tension rise, break and reassemble with a precise, collective drive.
