Info

Jacob Collier will stop in Montreal on October 2, 2026, at the Théâtre Beanfield. Born in London in 1994, he first drew attention in the early 2010s with polyphonic videos in which he layers voices and instruments. A multi-instrumentalist and singer, he moves between jazz, pop, R&B and choral writing, with dense harmonies, unexpected modulations and changes of meter that shape his musical language.

On stage, Collier extends this sonic laboratory. He switches from keyboard to bass, conducts his band, slices the sound into layers and weaves collective vocal architectures in which the audience often becomes an additional voice. Between pieces drawn from In My Room and excerpts from the Djesse cycle (2018–2024), he alternates intimate formats, reimagined orchestrations and more electronic sequences. There is a clear taste for live reharmonization, counter-lines that circulate among the musicians, and a flexible sense of groove.

In subtle touches, he also summons his collaborations—from Herbie Hancock to Hans Zimmer—as milestones in an open-ended journey. In Montreal, the experience is played out through listening and participation, balancing workshop-like precision with choral energy.
