Noelle Perna « Mado fait son Cabaret »

Noëlle Perna brings Mado la Niçoise back into the spotlight with Mado fait son cabaret. The boss with that Nicois gift of gab mounts her own bill and invites other performers, in a mix of home auditions, knowing barbs and barroom confidences. Mistress of ceremonies in her own way, Mado paces the evening, launches the acts, upends the hopefuls and wonders, as in the text, about connections versus talent. We find her blunt language, the snapping accent and scenes drawn from neighborhood life, couples and cafés, now reworked into cabaret with sketches, asides and sung passages.

On 15 January 2027 at the Zinga Zanga in Béziers, Mado raises the curtain and leads the dance, moving between cruel yet tender portraits, revisited chronicles of the Bar des Oiseaux and direct exchanges with the audience. Noëlle Perna channels the energy, shifts from one character to another and gives the floor to the evening’s guests, following a simple principle: each must reveal themselves under her gaze. A cabaret in her own way, where people come for Mado and also discover those she chooses to highlight.
