Big Thief « Somersault Slide 360 Tour »

On September 29, 2026, Big Thief brings the Somersault Slide 360 Tour to Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. Formed in Brooklyn around singer and guitarist Adrianne Lenker, the quartet also includes Buck Meek on guitar, Max Oleartchik on bass and James Krivchenia on drums. Their sound sits between indie rock and folk, with Lenker’s intimate songwriting carried by arrangements that drift from quiet, fingerpicked textures to rougher electric bursts.

Since Masterpiece and Capacity, the band has shaped a writing style that keeps space for detail and tension. U.F.O.F. introduced more vaporous tones, while Two Hands leaned into a rawer, live-in-the-room energy. With the double album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, Big Thief widened the palette again, weaving lo-fi pop touches, rural folk colors and clipped rock grooves.

On stage, the four play with elastic dynamics, letting songs breathe, stretch and break, shifting from close harmonies to jagged guitar lines and a rhythm section that swells and recedes. A night for deep cuts and evolving versions, carried by the band’s tight interplay and Lenker’s voice front and center.
