On June 29, 2026 at Cold Crash in Rezé, The Callous Daoboys perform their mathcore steeped in experimental metalcore. Based in Atlanta and led by singer Carson Pace, the collective plays on the collision of dissonance, abrupt tempo changes and melodic respites. Depending on the tour, the band broadens its palette with violin, saxophone or keyboards, resulting in dense arrangements sometimes close to chamber-music writing propelled by distorted guitars.
On stage, The Callous Daoboys string together chaotic sequences, angular riffs and unexpected breaks, then open into more direct choruses or almost cinematic interludes. The vocals move between nervy spoken-word and screamed lines, serving lyrics that combine intimate tensions, cultural references and an ironic view of everyday life. As reference points, the EP God Smiles Upon the Callous Daoboys (2017) lays the groundwork, followed by Die on Mars (2019), and then Celebrity Therapist (2022), which pushes fragmented structures further. The concert emphasizes unsettled meters and strong contrasts.
