Garage MU Festival - Jour 1

Info

On May 20, 2026 at La Station - Gare des Mines, Garage MU Festival — Day 1 brings together M(h)aol, Way Dynamic and quickly, quickly for a sidestep between post-punk, psychedelic folk and DIY pop. Three stage-minded projects from Dublin, Melbourne and Portland.

M(h)aol arrives with taut post-punk that takes its name from Gráinne Mhaol, the Irish pirate figure. Around singer Róisín Nic Ghearailt and producer Jamie Hyland, the band delivers a spoken‑shouted vocal style, repetitive basslines and rasping guitars. The lyrics tackle consent, gendered violence and religious legacies, condensed on the EP Gender Studies and then extended on the album Attachment Styles.

Way Dynamic, the project of Australian Dylan Young, opens a folk- and pop-leaning vein with a psychedelic edge. A multi-instrumentalist who has worked with Good Morning and Cool Sounds, he shapes melodic songs with bright guitars, restrained harmonies and moderate tempos that gain extra dimension in a live setting.

Closing the bill, quickly, quickly — aka Graham Jonson — emerges from his Portland studio with pop stitched from beats, keyboards and guitars. Rooted in a beatmaking culture but oriented toward songwriting, his music blends hushed textures and understated arrangements into supple, intimate tracks.
