Mariana Froes

Mariana Froes appears on 30 May 2026 at Melkweg, Amsterdam. The singer-songwriter from Goiânia (Brazil) moves between contemporary MPB, intimate folk and the atmosphere of bedroom pop. In the late 2010s she first attracted attention with home-recorded videos in which she covered Brazilian classics and more recent songs. From there her own repertoire grew: soft vocals up front, acoustic guitar as the backbone, and sparse arrangements that leave room for detail.

Her songs favor a slow tempo, subtlety and Portuguese lyrics that remain close and intimate. Not excessive, but focused on timbre, breath and small shifts in dynamics. Live, this translates into melodies that gently unfold and harmonies that give just enough space. Active in the independent scene, Froes alternates her own releases with occasional collaborations, and now brings that world to the stage: a set where melody is central and every pause counts, in the line of MPB and open to indie influences.
