Thrice

Thrice will play on 11 March 2026 at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The four-piece from Irvine, California — Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie and Riley Breckenridge — have been building since the late 1990s on a post-hardcore foundation rooted in the West Coast punk scene. Their early records, Identity Crisis and The Illusion of Safety, set the tone: fast and melodic. With The Artist in the Ambulance and Vheissu the sound shifted darker and more experimental, drawing on influences from alternative rock, metal and more layered, sometimes almost progressive, atmospheres.

The concept project The Alchemy Index explores electric intensity, acoustic intimacy and ambient textures, opening the door to a broader songwriting approach. That was followed by a series of albums — Beggars, Major/Minor, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere, Palms and Horizons/East — in which the quartet moved toward an alternative rock language marked by dense rhythms, introspective vocals and textured guitars. Active on North American and European stages, Thrice remains a tightly knit performing unit that alternates studio and touring work. In Amsterdam that evolution comes together in a set showcasing the breadth of their catalogue.
