Gatecreeper

Gatecreeper bring their desert-born death metal to Toronto on May 2, 2026 at Hard Luck Bar. Formed in 2013 in Tucson, the band blends thick, down-tuned riffs and doom-weighted grooves with bursts of hardcore bite. Early demos and splits led to Sonoran Depravation (2016), a first full-length that set their template: serrated riffs, cavernous vocals and tempos that lurch then sprint. Deserted (2019) pushed darker melodies and a dust-choked atmosphere tied to their home terrain, while the An Unexpected Reality EP (2021) split the difference between whiplash-short songs and slow-burn dirges. With Dark Superstition (2024), they refined arrangements without losing grit, folding punk edges into a solid death/doom core.

On stage, Gatecreeper play the contrast card: slow-motion crush into gallop, HM-2 buzz into wide-open doom, a set built for head-down movement rather than theatrics. Support comes from Eternal and Dying Remains, who set the tone with raw, old-school-leaning assaults. A direct, heavy bill for listeners chasing weighty riffs and unvarnished extreme metal.
