On 8 March 2026 at The Black Lab in Wasquehal, Goethes Erben took the stage with their singular blend of musical theatre and poetry. Driven by a spoken, narrative voice that intertwines with dark keyboards and electronic washes, the German project unfolds a dense, immersive darkwave. Between spoken tirades, dramatic breaks and repetitive motifs, the music moves like a story—physical and emotional—designed for the stage and for razor‑sharp listening. Each track reveals a facet of their blackened universe, where the lyrics take the lead and dictate the motion.
The evening also brought together the Belgians The Arch, a nervy new wave with EBM overtones, incisive guitars and taut synths, producing hypnotic melodies that linger. At their side, Unfarben traced a more minimal line: cold atmospheres, pared-back elegance, straight rhythms and icy bass for a precise coldwave that works through contrasts. Three complementary approaches to the same dark night, between darkwave, new wave and coldwave.
