Info
Lala Lala is the project of Lillie West, shaped between a London birth, a Los Angeles childhood and the Chicago DIY scene where her first shows took form. On April 12, 2026 at The Garrison in Toronto, she brings a set that threads indie rock and indie pop with a post-punk tint. The songs are anchored in guitar lines and unhurried tempos, with a taste for lo-fi textures that gradually open onto layered vocal harmonies and subtle electronics.
Her path runs from the raw clarity of Sleepyhead (2016) to the more nuanced writing of The Lamb (2018), then to the textured turns of I Want The Door to Open (2021). On stage, that chronology becomes a fluid arc: tight, melodic hooks sit next to moodier passages, electronics slip in and out of the mix, and the voice stays upfront, lucid and direct. Introspective lyrics remain central, carried by melodies that build and recede to leave space for dynamics. The set often nods to collaborations that expanded her palette, like the exchange with Yoni Wolf, while staying rooted in the immediacy that marked her early Chicago shows.
