Codefendants

On April 7, 2026 at The Pearl in Vancouver, Codefendants bring their cross‑current blend of punk urgency and alternative hip hop. Formed by rapper and songwriter Ceschi Ramos, vocalist Sam King from California punk outfit Get Dead, and Fat Mike of NOFX, the trio has shaped a sound they call crime wave: taut guitars, rap‑leaning rhythms, spoken passages and melodies that lean into a darker pop mood.

Their 2023 album This Is Crime Wave set the tone with songs that move between slow‑burn ballads, ska‑tinged detours, alternative rock edges and tracks rooted more directly in rap. Live, the contrast and complement between Ceschi’s agile flow and Sam King’s gravelly bite drive the set, while Fat Mike’s punk background underpins arrangements that stay tight but leave space for narrative breaks and unexpected turns.
