Info
On February 25, 2026, SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon hosts Megadeth with Anthrax. Formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by guitarist-vocalist Dave Mustaine, Megadeth helped set the tone for American thrash with razor-sharp riffs, precise tempo shifts and lyrics that cut into politics, war and social alienation. From Killing Is My Business… and Peace Sells to Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and the more melodic Youthanasia, the band has moved through changing lineups without losing its drive, returning strong in the 2000s with Endgame, Dystopia and 2022’s The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!. Live, they focus on speed, tight interplay and twin-guitar lines built for impact.
Anthrax, formed in New York in 1981 around guitarist Scott Ian, rounds out the bill. Part of thrash’s Big Four, the group blends rapid-fire riffing with a hardcore edge, chant-ready hooks and pop culture nods. Early touchstones Fistful of Metal, Spreading the Disease and Among the Living set their frame, while the John Bush years pulled toward heavier, alternative textures. The collaboration with Public Enemy on Bring the Noise opened a rap-metal lane, followed by a straight-ahead thrash return on Worship Music and For All Kings. On stage, expect brisk tempos, sharp downpicks and a call-and-response energy tuned for a big room.
