Converge

Converge will perform at Théâtre Fairmount in Montreal on April 8, 2026. Formed in the early 1990s around Jacob Bannon and Kurt Ballou, the American band established itself at the intersection of hardcore punk and a more extreme form of metal, marked by dissonance, tempo shifts and deliberately jagged song structures. From their early recordings through Jane Doe, then You Fail Me, No Heroes and The Dusk in Us, up to the Bloodmoon: I project with Chelsea Wolfe, Converge has broadened its palette by working with darker textures and more developed vocal arrangements, while retaining a precise rhythm section and highly textured guitars. On stage, the band moves between rapid assaults and more suspended passages, stringing together short, contrasting songs that draw on different eras of their catalogue.

Also on the bill are SPY and guest artists, rounding out an evening oriented toward hardcore and its offshoots—direct and unadorned, focused on the effectiveness and impact of the live show.
