On May 27, 2026, Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg hosts Alestorm’s Mostly Canadian Tour. The Scottish band sails its pirate-themed blend of power and folk metal, stacking shout-along choruses, brisk tempos and synth hooks honed across albums from Captain Morgan’s Revenge to Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum. Riffs race, keys swing from chiptune sparkle to sea-shanty melodies, and lyrics chart raids, rum and cursed treasure with a tongue-in-cheek edge shaped on the road and in festival pits.
Sharing the bill, Sweden’s Twilight Force brings symphonic power metal steeped in high-fantasy lore. Founded by Daniel Beckman and Philip Lindh, the group layers cinematic orchestrations, choirs and rapid-fire rhythms into chapters drawn from The Twilight Kingdoms. With Alessandro Conti on vocals, Dawn of the Dragonstar and At the Heart of Wintervale refine the formula with soaring lines over dense orchestral beds. On stage, costumes and aliases extend the saga for a set that reads like a quest from prologue to finale.
