Info

Céline Dessberg, a singer, composer and harpist of Franco-Mongolian origin, brings into dialogue the two cultures that shaped her. Between the French way of life and Mongolian traditions, she draws as much from Chet Baker and David Byrne as from the melodies of the steppes.

On stage, her voice is supported by the timbre of the yatga, the Mongolian harp, which she blends with guitar and piano. The lyrics move from Mongolian to French and then to English, in songs that shift from folk to indie pop without losing cohesion. The string playing carries the melodies, at times percussive, at times expansive.

In the summer of 2024 she recorded at Studio Zoe (New Jersey) with producer Max Shrager, in collaboration with Sal Samano and Alex Garcia of Thee Sacred Souls. From these sessions came the EP Hödöö (2024) and a 45 rpm single on That’s Love Records in 2025, followed by an opening slot for Thee Sacred Souls at La Cigale in February 2025. On March 18, 2026, at La Boule Noire, Céline Dessberg will present a set drawn from Hödöö and her more recent songs.
