Info

On April 11, 2026 at Pan Piper in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino brings the pizzica of Salento to life. Founded in 1975 by writer Rina Durante, the ensemble today reinterprets the pizzica tarantata, a ritual repertoire associated with the tarantula myth in which music, trance and dance intertwine. Under the impetus of violinist–singer Mauro Durante, the group connects oral tradition and contemporary compositions, relying on an acoustic sound, pulses driven by the tamburello — the beating heart of Salento’s tradition — and Mediterranean hues.

On stage, timbres intersect: multiple voices, violin, accordion, bagpipes, flutes, guitar and bouzouki converse while Silvia Perrone’s dance provides the movement. The lineup features Mauro Durante (vocals, percussion, violin), Alessia Tondo (vocals, percussion), Silvia Perrone (dance), Giulio Bianco (bagpipes, harmonica, flutes, bass), Massimiliano Morabito (accordion), Emanuele Licci (vocals, guitar, bouzouki) and Giancarlo Paglialunga (vocals, tamburello, percussion).

Opening act: Télamuré.
