Info
On June 5, 2026, Prince Daddy & the Hyena and Remo Drive take over The Mod Club, 722 College Street, Toronto. Born in Albany’s DIY scene, Prince Daddy & the Hyena shaped a raw emo and pop punk sound with saturated guitars, rasped vocals and a tight live dynamic honed in basements and small rooms. Their debut, I Thought You Didn’t Even Like Leaving (2016), set a direct, melodic base. Cosmic Thrill Seekers (2019) moved into more constructed pieces with tempo shifts and a continuous thread across the tracklist, while the self-titled album (2022) opens space for quick pop punk bursts and slower, voice-led passages. On stage, they often link songs in seamless transitions, with lyrics that mix dark humor and vulnerability.
Formed in Bloomington, Minnesota, Remo Drive centers on brothers Erik and Stephen Paulson. The trio made a mark in the DIY emo and pop punk circuit with Greatest Hits (2017), all nervy guitars, melodic bass lines and stories of day-to-day friction. Signed to Epitaph, they leaned into indie rock and power pop on the Pop Music EP (2018) and Natural, Everyday Degradation (2019), then pared back to a sharper alternative rock core on A Portrait of an Ugly Man (2020). Live, they keep it focused and tight, letting riffs and vocal hooks drive the set.
