Sleaford Mods

Sleaford Mods land at The Pearl in Vancouver on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Formed in Nottingham, the duo pairs Jason Williamson’s clipped, spoken delivery with Andrew Fearn’s minimal beats and looping bass lines. The result is a lean mix of post-punk, spoken word and stripped-back hip-hop where cadence and rhythm carry the punch. Williamson writes from the ground level — precarious jobs, small-town tension, the daily grind — with a regional bite that keeps the language sharp and unvarnished.

After early underground releases, Austerity Dogs pushed the project into wider view, followed by Divide and Exit and English Tapas. Along the way, collaborations with The Prodigy and Billy Nomates have broadened their edges without changing the core: direct lyrics, repetitive grooves, no frills. On stage, the set-up stays bare — voice and programming — which puts every word and every pattern under the light.
