John Butler with Band

John Butler comes to Montréal with his band for a date at Théâtre Beanfield on April 20, 2026. Born in California and raised in Western Australia, the singer and guitarist shaped his style around acoustic roots and open tunings. After busking in Fremantle in the mid-90s, he self-released Searching for Heritage in 1996 and a first album in 1998, then launched the John Butler Trio. His music moves between folk, blues and rock with funk and reggae shades, and often leaves space for long instrumental pieces and a strong fingerstyle pulse. Over the years he has alternated solo work and band tours, keeping lyrics that lean social or intimate and a guitar-driven writing.
