Finnish metalcore outfit Atlas brings its self-styled “northcore” to Winnipeg on March 1, 2026 at Burton Cummings Theatre. Formed in Nokia, the band has shaped a modern take on metalcore that leans into darker climates: low-tuned guitars, heavy rhythmic drive and a back-and-forth between harsh screams and clear vocals, wrapped in ambient layers and discreet electronic touches. After early EPs and a steady run of shows at home, Atlas pushed across Europe and specialist festivals. The debut album Primitive (2018) laid the groundwork; with UKKO (2021), the group folded in more Finnish lyrics and motifs drawn from northern landscapes, keeping a contemporary, hard-hitting edge.

On stage, Atlas balances weight and melody with wide, cinematic atmospheres and a streak of Nordic melancholy. Expect a set that moves from dense breakdowns to spacious crescendos without losing focus on hooks and dynamics.
