Info
On April 16, 2026, The Black Lab in Wasquehal welcomes Patrick Rondat, a leading figure in instrumental metal guitar who emerged from the hard rock scene of the 1980s. He has developed a sound at the crossroads of heavy, prog and classical influences, with clearly drawn themes and tempo changes that run through his albums, from Amphibia to An Ephemeral World. He has appeared alongside Jean‑Michel Jarre, as a guest on Joe Satriani’s G3, and in the studio with Simon Phillips and Steve Lukather.
On stage he will present Escape From Shadows, released on Verycords in 2025. An instrumental progressive hard rock album that continues his artistic trajectory, situated somewhere between Amphibia and An Ephemeral World. He will be joined by his long‑standing band: Patrice Guers on bass, Dirk Bruinenberg on drums, and Manu Martin on keyboards. Notable on the album is its first sung track, "Now We’re Home," featuring the blues‑rock voice of Gaëlle Buswel, and the participation of Pascal Vigné, who recorded some guitar parts and contributed a solo on "From Nowhere." A date to discover his finely crafted riffs, catchy melodies and the energy of his writing on stage.
